The whispers are fading, my mind is racing
and all I hear is your harsh words screaming
now I am the hypocrite you thought I'd never be
and I'm falling ever faster!
My silent cries heard only in my dreams
haunt my every waking breath as I lie and deceive
I run into the twilight's horizon, never looking back
for I can't face your accusing stare
that has finally seen the truth.
How could you have ever loved me?
What have I ever done but betray you?
In reading those long forgotten words of yours,
I now know that you are right!
And oh how I pray that you will forgive me,
my closest friend, my dearest confidant.
But arrows fly so fast between us
and the glass bonds have been permanently shattered.
In the flaming aurora of the setting sun,
I find solace in knowing that I am at last alone.
For those long demonic shadows are following fast
and I dare not let you see yourself win.

thank you conny. you write such in depth reviews that I never can manage. actually this poem was written way before Valentines day, and is just about the distance between me and a friend for the most part. Thank you for your amazing reviews Conny, you're the best.
